I believe the burning of the book was Walter's imagination. It was a part of him, in the form of his ex-Assistant, that remembered his works and ideas derived through his genius. Since those ideas were part of the man he used to be, it haunts him in the form of his former lab assistant; as they might change him into 'that' man again and thereby not following through with the current plans of defeating the Observers. He might then join the Observers by proving his abilities as a brilliant Scientist instead or stop caring about the plan entirely. This is why he hallucinates his former lab assistant telling him that he had been the man he used to be for a longer time than the man he is now. So burning a notebook full of his old ideas and work he had penned down will not make a difference as he didn't need a book to remind himself of who he was and what he is capable of. Thus the notebook must be imaginary.

It was alluded to that the baby had survived when Keel said he had found Sams medical records from Istanbul and that, “he knows.” I agree that Byzantine were pretty awful at their jobs and don't understand how Bingham was able to find the CCTV cameras wihout them seeing him find them. All that effort to put a bomb under his car? Why couldn't Sam have poisoned him or a sniper? The Bomb under the car was like using a sledge hammer to kill a snail. However, I loved the show. I loved the conspiracy idea and feel it is an important message about the relationship between government and big business. Clearly Sam saw someone at that poker table that she should never had seen. Perhaps someone who recently came into power like a Priminister or something. I notice her dead mothers name was not her name so she must have changed her identity. Not to jump the gun but I bet her dad is the head of one of the other corporations or is an enemy of them so they kidnapped his daughter to get to him. Clearly they were keeping her alive for a reason ransom perhaps. Maybe her dad has hired the assassin who uses needles to protect his daughter? It is suprising they never mentioned her dad once, that must mean he is important. So many questions but so few answers. Please more episodes

What the hell was all that about at the end with baby? Not even an smidging of a clue throughout the series that her baby survived. I reckon it was the immaculate conception, and HourGlass knew of this and for some reason didn't like the idea , so thought it best to have her popped off.. lol

Some extra thoughts on a few things I forgot about when telling you just how terrible this show was:

Aidan asks the mysterious bloke with the weird face 'How do I know this isn't poison?'. Why on earth would he want to poison Sam when she's already being poisoned? He should have just walked away and let Aidan get on with it himself.

When Sam rises from the dead (and the bath) why doesn't Jack Turner hear the rather loud splashing out water? Also, is it just me, or did he not even hit his head on the tiled floor but blood spills out of it anyway (and, like the animated opening, don't even ask me about her bloody flashbacks).

Was there any point in Zoe's boyfriend being paralysed, other than to say 'It's my legs that don't work, not my eyes'?

Am I the only person that doesn't believe for a second that the actor playing Fowkes is really called 'Lex Shrapnel'?

Part of me was gutted that Silva wasn't revealed as some kind of Blofeld type character to lead Quantum, really wanted him to appear in another but the personal vendetta really did define the character, I guess.
